8PM: Film Preview Screening (15 Min) – Discussion to Follow

Join us as we screen fifteen minutes of Quest: The Fury and the Sound, a documentary film about a family over the course of nine years in North Philadelphia, directed by Jon Olshefski. The feature length film will be released in 2017, and it will have a PG-13 rating.

Filmed with verite intimacy over the course of nine years (2007 – 2015), Quest: The Fury and the Sound chronicles the relationships, choices and events that shape a family’s history. Christopher and Christine’a Rainey (aka Quest and Ma Quest) raise their children and run a music studio from their home in North Philadelphia, determined to provide a positive outlet in their neighborhood.

The film provides a nuanced glimpse of the Rainey’s reality as they encounter both crisis and everyday life while holding on to one another.
