The news makes for a Psalm 107 litany of despair and frustration

My loved ones and I spontaneously constructed our own Psalm 107 yesterday as the news forced its way into our consciousness. I wrote a blog post about it. It was a litany of despair and frustration. We thought of each other and took heart as we joined in with the psalm’s refrain:

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress

Bibi

Gwen and I wonder if we are doing enough to help the dear people we met in Palestine, now that Netanyahu is planning apartheid.

Barr

Attorney General Barr went to Congress and continued to hide what is really going on in our power-hungry government.

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,

Obama blamed again

As part of his Sisi press conference, Trump again blamed Obama for inventing the policy of separating children at the border and putting them in cages, while he righteously stopped the policy. That was never an Obama policy; Jeff Sessions got it going.

The big lies continue to be told no matter how frequently they are refuted.

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress

In my distress I was led to notice all the good things and good people I had been given yesterday. The list soon made a spiritual pile on my dinner table.  I can say with confidence:

Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.

Don’t let anyone steal your joy. God is with us, and with the world through us. Miracles are happening every day. Go with the daffodils not the daffiness.
