As we walk together towards Easter, we experiment with different disciplines to help us rekindle intimacy with God. We practice some of those Lenten disciplines individually—like limited our diet, waking up early to journal, or a renewed commitment to prayer. Besides our regular rhythms of Sunday meetings and cells, over 100 of us so far have gathered for Worship Relief to find rest for our weary souls.
We’ve completed two so far, and for the next three weeks we’re making space for an hour at one of our sites for you to get some relief and rest. Each of these one hour meetings offers poetic responsive readings, gentle singing, prayerful artistic installation, and sharing the communion meal. You can give your soul a chance to get some proactive care, and receive some shelter from the storms of life. The Holy Spirit will show up, although we can’t quite predict how that movement will meet our intentions—but so far it’s been really rich.
This week we had to cancel because of the snow but we’ll be on North Broad next week before concluding on Ridge Ave in Northwest Philly. For details on where and when as well as other resources—visit circleofhope.net/lent.
