The Circle Mobilizing because Black Lives Matter team is hosting a workshop on the book White Fragility. We encourage you to read the book before coming! We have a limited amount of books available at the congregations so folks are welcome to also purchase their books online. More about the book here. Facebook event here.
September 21 • Free Baby & Kids Goods Exchange
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. • 3800 Marlton Pike, Pennsauken, NJ
We hope to bring our communities together to share resources and get necessary kid/baby stuff to families that need them. This is always a free event. Bring items to share if you can, but don’t stay away if you have nothing to share.
September 28 • Solidarity Beyond Borders Film Screening
6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. • 2007 Frankford Ave. Philly
Visual Artist, Michelle Angela Ortiz will be screening her short documentary, “Las Madres de Berks”, as part of her “Familias Separadas” public art project which amplifies the stories of families affected by detention and deportation in Pennsylvania. This screening is presented in partnership with the Shut Down Berks Coalition and Circle of Hope. The screenings are made possible with support by The Fleischner Family Fund of the Philadelphia Foundation, Free Migration Project, Leeway Foundation, and the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation.
