►About Last Year’s Camp!
In August 2016, participants in Circle’s Children’s Theatre Summer Camp spent the week learning theatre skills like acting, singing, dancing, set design, and playwriting. They wrote their own original play, composed and wrote the lyrics for their own original song, designed and built their sets, helped choreograph their dance, and acted in their play in front of an audience. At the end of the performance, the children were invited to answer questions about the camp and the process of creating their own play. One camper said to their audience at the end, “I just want to thank all of you for coming and supporting us and watching our play. We worked really hard this week!”
Parental feedback from Summer Camp 2016:
“My kids came home every day this week walking a little bit taller.”
“She took this class to see how she would like performing in a play and she loved it, from start to finish!”
“My child’s favorite part was being able to be involved in every aspect of the creative process.”
“She said she liked the performance the best because it showed everyone all the fun and work they did all week.”
